PT| No próximo dia 23 de setembro, entre as 17h e as 20h, inaugura-se na Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny a exposição “(O)postos Coincidentes”. A mostra apresenta os resultados do programa de residências artísticas promovido pela Perve Galeria, reunindo obras de José Pedro Oliveira, Sara Santos, Ruca Bourbon e Time for the Oniric (dupla composta por Micaela Guedes e Carina Prazeres), vencedores da open call homónima.
Lançada no início de 2025, esta open call assinalou três importantes efemérides: os 75 anos da 2.ª e última exposição d’Os Surrealistas, os 50 anos das Independências dos PALOP e os 25 anos da Perve Galeria. Entre mais de uma centena de candidaturas recebidas e 28 projetos finalistas, foram selecionados quatro artistas emergentes, cuja prática artística se materializa agora nesta exposição inédita.
“(O)postos Coincidentes” estará patente até 22 de novembro na Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny.

ENG| On 23 September, between 5pm and 8pm, the exhibition 'Coincident Opposites' will open at Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny. The exhibition presents the results of the artist residency programme promoted by Perve Galeria, bringing together artworks by José Pedro Oliveira, Sara Santos, Ruca Bourbon and Time for the Oniric (Micaela Guedes and Carina Prazeres), winners of the open call of the same name.
Launched in early 2025, this open call marked three important anniversaries: the 75th anniversary of the 2nd and last exhibition of the Portuguese Surrealist group from the 1940s, 'Os Surrealistas', the 50th anniversary of the independence of the portuguese-speaking countries, and the 25th anniversary of Perve Galeria. From over a hundred applications received and 28 finalist projects, four emerging artists were selected, whose artistic practice is now materialised in this unprecedented exhibition.
'Coincident Opposites' will be on display until 22 November at Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny.

PT| Reunindo os resultados artísticos de um programa de residências único, a exposição "(O)postos Coincidentes" apresenta obras de cinco artistas emergentes — Time for the Oniric (dupla composta por Micaela Guedes e Carina Prazeres), Ruca Bourbon, Sara Santos e José Pedro Oliveira — selecionados através de uma votação pública e por um júri internacional, no âmbito da open call lançada pelo projeto "(O)postos Coincidentes". Desenvolvido pela Associação "Colectivo Multimédia Perve", em colaboração com a Perve Galeria e a Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny, o projeto foi concebido como um espaço de reflexão em torno das interseções entre memória, identidade e futuro, afirmando a arte como lugar de encontro, questionamento e transformação.
A exposição reúne as obras desenvolvidas durante as residências artísticas, atravessando diversos meios como a pintura, o vídeo, a instalação, a fotografia e a performance. Apesar da diversidade de abordagens, os projetos partilham uma preocupação comum com temas como a solidão, a impermanência e a condição humana num mundo cada vez mais hipertecnológico. Entre narrativas visuais de natureza surreal, experimentações com imagem analógica, mapeamentos psicogeográficos de Lisboa e ecologias especulativas, a exposição convida o público a refletir sobre o espaço entre presença e ausência, natureza e artifício, tempo e intemporalidade.
"(O)postos Coincidentes", patente na Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny entre 22 de setembro e 22 de novembro, insere-se num ciclo mais amplo de celebrações simbólicas: os 75 anos da segunda e última exposição do'"Os Surrealistas"; os 50 anos da independência dos países africanos de língua portuguesa; e os 25 anos da fundação da Perve Galeria. Neste contexto, a exposição surge não apenas como o culminar de um processo criativo, mas como uma afirmação mais ampla: a de que a arte continua a ser uma das últimas fronteiras onde os opostos podem colidir, coexistir e, em última instância, transformar-se.
ENG| Bringing together the artistic outcomes of a unique residency program, the exhibition "Coincident Opposites" presents works by five emerging artists—Time for the Oniric (Micaela Guedes and Carina Prazeres), Ruca Bourbon, Sara Santos, José Pedro Oliveira, and Larissa Antunes—selected through a public vote and an international jury following an open call launched as part of the broader Coincident Opposites project. Developed by the Colectivo Multimédia Perve Association, in collaboration with Perve Galeria and Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny, the project was conceived to reflect on the intersections of memory, identity, and the future, while affirming art as a space of encounter, questioning, and transformation.
The exhibition features the final works produced during the artists' residencies, spanning painting, video, installation, photography, and performance. Though diverse in approach, the works are united by a shared engagement with themes of solitude, impermanence, and the human condition in an increasingly hyper-technological world. From surreal visual narratives and experimental analog imagery to psychogeographic mappings of Lisbon and speculative ecologies, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the space between presence and absence, nature and artifice, time and timelessness.
"Coincident Opposites", on view at Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny from September 23 to November 22, forms part of a wider cycle of symbolic commemorations: the 75th anniversary of the second and final exhibition of the Portuguese Surrealist group "Os Surrealistas"; the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Portuguese-speaking African countries; and the 25th anniversary of the founding of Perve Galeria. In this context, the exhibition stands not only as the culmination of a creative process, but as a broader statement—that art remains one of the last frontiers where opposites may collide, coexist, and ultimately, transform.
