AKAA | Africa Dialogues | 12.11 - 14.11.2021
PT | Entre os dias 11 e 14 de novembro, a Perve Galeria estará presente na maior feira de arte africana em França, a AKAA 2021, em Paris. Com o projeto «Africa Dialogues», a Perve Galeria irá apresentar um diálogo entre artistas representados pela galeria, oriundos de países de língua oficial portuguesa, sendo eles: Ernesto Shikhani (1934-2010, Moçambique), Malangatana Ngwenya (1936-2011, Moçambique), Reinata Sadimba (1945, Moçambique) e Tchalé Figueira (1953, Cabo Verde).
Através de quatro gerações de artistas africanos «Africa Dialogues» coloca a tónica na diversidade dentro do panorama artístico contemporâneo africano, que pode ser visto através das obras dos autores selecionados.
O projeto tem uma preponderância sobre preocupações políticas e de género, apresentadas através do diálogo entre os artistas, que apesar de pertencerem a gerações diferentes, e de se expressarem visualmente de formas distintas, todos eles tiveram um papel essencial na dinamização artística africana no plano internacional. Partilham a mesma sensação de rotura com os processos históricos, culturais e artísticos dos seus locais de proveniência, realizando uma nova reflexão através da qual as tensões inerentes à posição de adaptação e a inadequação cultural de cada artista podem ser sentidas. Os artistas representados têm um espólio artístico consolidado, e com isso, a Perve Galeria propõe-se a questionar as realidades artísticas e culturais de cada artista, através das suas intervenções plásticas, e resultados que são refletidos através das suas obras.
Esta exposição procura representar a arte Lusófona nas bases da sua evolução histórica através das diversas «Áfricas». Estes artistas estão inseridos na Coleção Lusofonias, da Perve Galeria, a qual foi construida sobre a ideia de expandir as possibilidades, os limites e as fronteiras da arte africana, tal como a vemos hoje em dia.

EN | Between the 11th and the 14th of November, Perve Galeria will be present at the largest African art fair in France, AKAA 2021, in Paris. With the project "Africa Dialogues", Perve Galeria will present a dialogue between artists represented by the gallery, from Portuguese-speaking countries, being: Ernesto Shikhani (1934-2010, Mozambique), Malangatana Ngwenya (1936-2011, Mozambique), Reinata Sadimba (1945, Mozambique) and Tchalé Figueira (1953, Cape Verde). Through four generations of African artists, "Africa Dialogues" places the emphasis on diversity within the contemporary African artistic panorama, which can be seen through the works of the selected authors.
The project has a preponderance of political and gender concerns, presented through the dialogue between the artists, who despite belonging to different generations, and expressing themselves visually in different ways, all of whom have played an essential role in boosting African art internationally. They share the same sense of rupture with the historical, cultural and artistic processes of their places of provenance, making a new reflection through which the tensions inherent in the position of adaptation and the cultural inadequacy of each artist can be felt. The artists represented have a consolidated artistic estate, and with this, Perve Galeria proposes to question the artistic and cultural realities of each artist, through their plastic interventions, and results that are reflected through their works.
This exhibition seeks to represent Lusophone art on the basis of its historical evolution through the various "Africas". These artists are part of Perve Galeria's Lusofonias Collection, which was built on the idea of expanding the possibilities, limits and boundaries of African art as we see it today.
